MICROSURFACING is a polymer modified Cold Mix paving system formulated to remedy a broad range of problems on today’s streets and highways.
Pioneered in the early 1970s, Microsurfacing was introduced in 1980. Advancements in materials and technology have made Microsurfacing one of the most cost-effective resurfacing materials available. The highest quality material is selected – asphalt, polymer modified emulsion, high friction aggregate, additives and water. NYBIT manufactures the polymer modified Microsurfacing emulsion which gives exceptional control over quality. All ingredients pass stringent laboratory tests to conform exactly to the engineered mix design and job mix formula.
Microsurfacing creates a new, stable surface that is resistant to rutting and shoving. It can be applied effectively at an average thickness of 3/8", more area per ton of mix is covered, resulting in cost-effective resurfacing. Microsurfacing provides texture corrections where the road surface is too rough or too smooth, thus eliminating hydroplaning and increasing skid resistance. Ruts up to 1-1/2" can be filled without milling.
NYBIT has the ability to apply this product in a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. Night applications on heavy traffic streets and highways are very suitable. Continuous load pavers utilize support units which bring materials to the job site and load the machine while it is working. This maximizes production and minimizes transverse joints.
ADVANTAGES
- Life expectancy up to ten years.
- No loss of curb reveal. Does not alter drainage.
- Eliminates hydroplaning & increases skid resistance.
- Resistant to rutting and shoving.
- Environmentally safe. Cold application emits no pollutants.
- Applied with continuous load pavers to minimize traffic delays (Reopened to traffic in one hour).
- Fills ruts up to 1-1/2" – special application available for profile. Correction of uneven and rutted surfaces
- Can be applied in wide range of temperatures and weather.
